Psy Trance
Psychedelic trance, psytrance or just psy (derived from the Ancient Greek word ψυχή "psyche", mind; soul; breath; spirit) is a form of electronic music characterized by hypnotic arrangements of synthetic rhythms and complex layered melodies created by high tempo riffs. It appeared in the mainstream in 1995 as with reporting of the trend of Goa trance. The genre offers variety in terms of mood, tempo, and style. Some examples include full on, dark, progressive, suomi, psybreaks and psybient. Goa Trance continues to develop alongside the sub genres.

Many consider the difference between Goa trance and psychedelic trance are minimal at best and really just a matter of opinion. Psychedelic trance is distinguished from other sub-genres because of the unique sounds it typically features.
The genre offers variety in terms of mood, tempo, and style. Some examples include full on, dark, progressive, suomi and psybreaks.Today, the most mainstream subgenre of psy trance is full on that`s usually based on certain rhythmic rules, quite harmonic and melodic.
The style is very popular in Western Europe, Scandinavia, Israel, recently psy trance became popular in Japan, East Europe, CIS, and even in Latin America, Australia, South Africa. The USA and Canada traditionally are aside. Concerts include indoors and open air festivals that draw thousands of people.
Israeli musicians are leading global producers of psy trance, the most notable representative is Astrix. Alongside Israeli and Western European projects, the style becomes more and more popular in Greece (Wizzy Noise, Ion), Russia (Kindzadza, Fungus Funk), Ukraine (SynSUN), Serbia (Alternative Control), South Africa (Protoculture, Rinkadink), Mexico (Lamat), Brasil (Audio X), and many others.
Music journalists claim that the genre can`t be broadcasted on radio and TV because of constant propaganda of hallucinogenic drugs.
