Neurofunk
Neurofunk is a subgenre of drum and bass music that is gradually getting to be more and more popular with listeners all around the world. Neurofunk suffers from the influence of techno music and tries to pay attention to complex bass lines and instruments unlike other drum and bass styles. Distinctive features of the style include the emphasis on the sharp sound achieved by sawtooth and chewing bass, cutting sounds, and heavy breakbeat. Such styles as electro and techno gave a birth to the emergence of neurofunk.
Birth: 1998 Bloom: 2007
There is a version that the term «neurofunk» was first mentioned in the Simon Reynolds` book «Energy Flash» dedicated to the history of rave and dance culture.
As a music genre, neurofunk emerged in 1998 with the release «Wormhole» by Ed Rush and Optical.
Neurofunk is often described as «clinically accurate music». This genre absorbs all newest sound technologies, that`s why its main musical themes sound futuristic like the history of the future.
